Best Facemasks for Acne-Prone Skin at Home

Acne gives a lot of pain. Not only to the beauty but to the skin also. Pimples, acnes can pop up at the worst times. We all have different skin issues and different skin types but thankfully, there are natural ways to clear up acne-prone skin with only a few ingredients found at home!

You need to identify the kind of acne-like if it’s non – inflammatory clogged pores, they are blackheads or whiteheads. If it’s inflammatory they are small red bumps and some contain pus. You need to keep washing your face twice a day at least and be gentle with your skin, don’t scrub or use too many exploiting things.

So the home-made face masks are best and effective in treating the acne. They not only treat acne but makes your skin healthy too. The face-mask are:

1. Tomato juice and Aloevera mask

The active ingredient in tomatoes helps to prevent damage which is caused to skin by UV light. It is a powerful antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory agent that protects the skin. Aloe vera is used for skin health. It stimulates the production collagen that gets back the softness and glows, it cools the skin too!

For this facemask, you just need 2 tbsp Alovera g and 3 tbsp tomato juice. Now, mix both of the ingredients together in a small cup until it makes a thick paste. Wash your face with a gentle face wash before you put this mask on your face then pat your skin dry and apply the mask. Leave the mask for 20 mins and rinse gently by scrubbing your face in a circular motion by cold water.

2. Honey and Turmeric mask

Honey is a brilliant ingredient to fight against acne and turmeric consists of antibacterial properties in it that makes it beneficial for so many problems. It will target the pores and cleanse the bacteria. It is also great for brightening the skin. You just need 1 tbsp pure honey and 1/2 tsp turmeric.

Method: In a bowl, mix both the ingredients. Once the smooth paste is made, apply it to the face and leave it for 10-15 mins then wash it off with warm water. Pro tip – Use it two-three times a week to get best results.

3. Aloevera and Lemon Juice mask

As already mentioned, aloe vera is used as a soothing product. It calms the redness and irritation and lemon is a fantastic anti-oxidant, it has vitamin C and it boosts collagen and fights with free radicals. Just use 1 tbsp aloe vera gel and 1 tsp lemon juice.

Method: Combine the ingredients and apply the paste on the face. Leave this for 20 mins and then wash with lukewarm water. Use it twice a week!

4. Cucumber and Oatmeal mask

Cucumber works as a coolant. They work towards reducing swelling and scars whereas oatmeal is rich in zinc that reduces inflammation of the skin and kills the bacteria. Oatmeal and cucumber are again very common in the kitchen which can be mixed to make a simple homemade a mask for acne.

For this mask, you need one peeled cucumber, 2 tbsp oatmeal and 1 tsp honey. The method to make this mask is simple. Mash the peeled cucumber in a mixer, transfer the content to bowl. Add oatmeal in the bowl and mix them well until the consistency is thick enough to form a paste. Add honey and apply it to the face but first, be ensure that your face is clean. Apply the mask and leave it for 30 mins. Wash it with lukewarm water and then rinse your face with cold water to tighten your pores or apply ice on the face.

5. Banana and yogurt mask

Banana is loaded with rich ingredients like Vitamin A, zinc, manganese which are all anti-acne. Bananas don’t only prevent spreading bacteria and remove toxins but also prevents the spots from scars. Yoghurt is a natural moisturizers and they are life savours!

You need a half mashed banana and 1 tbsp yoghurt. If you wish, you can add 1 tsp honey also in the mixture. Now combine the ingredients well and apply it on your skin. Leave it for 10-15 mins and then wash it with warm water.

  • Use your favourable mask twice a week
  • Follow a skin routine and clean your face daily in the night before you sleep
  • Don’t use too much of cosmetics on the skin
  • Do apply toner or rose water on your face twice or thrice a week
  • If you want an overnight formula, gently massage a sliced Cucumber over the cleansed face for smooth and hydrated skin. Rinse it the other morning.
  • You can also try aloe vera gel with two drops of tea tree oil
  • Also, you can apply vitamin E oil to your face. Gently massage and rinse it with cold water in the morning.
